Project Cluster Unit, Sindhupalchok
Under the Food and Nutrition Security Enhancement Project, the Project Cluster Unit (PCU) office was established in Sindhupalchok in Jestha 2076 (May–June 2019) to oversee activities in two earthquake-affected districts — Dolakha and Sindhupalchok. To ensure smooth implementation, effective monitoring, and faster execution of project activities, an additional contact unit under the PCU was established in Dolakha District (Charikot) in Kartik 2076 (October–November 2019).
Based on the findings of a joint field-level study report and the recommendation of the Project Technical Coordination Committee, the Project Steering Committee, in its meeting held on 2076/05/25 BS (September 2019), decided to implement the project activities in Indrawati Rural Municipality and Lisankhu Pakhar Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok District, as well as Kalinchok Rural Municipality and Tamakoshi Rural Municipality of Dolakha District.
Government staff members stationed at the Cluster Unit are responsible for monitoring programs and managing budgets. Similarly, three technical experts (Agriculture, Livestock, and Nutrition) from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) are assigned to provide subject-matter expertise within the Cluster Unit. In addition, local service provider organizations employ six technical personnel in each municipality (2 in agriculture, 2 in livestock, and 2 in nutrition) who work in coordination with respective municipal branches to implement field activities effectively.
